Baltic amber is the fossilised tree resin of ancient conifer trees that grew in the Baltic region 40-60 million years ago. Baltic amber has been documented throughout the ages for its extraordinary health properties as far back as the Ancient Greeks and the works of Hippocrates.

Baltic Amber works by releasing natural oils onto the skin that are absorbed into the bloodstream. In Germany and other European countries Baltic amber is sold in pharmacies and health stores.

What is amber?

Amber is the fossilised resin of ancient trees that grew 16-100 million years ago, and is only found in a few preserved areas of the world. The biggest and purest is the Baltic region in Europe, with amber dating back 40-60 million years. Unlike stone, amber is warm against the skin and pleasant to wear.

The existence of amber is itself a miracle – the resin from trees millions of years ago needed to be carried away by water to the ancient seabed where over millions of years, and under pressure, it transformed into the amber we know today.

Are amber necklaces and bracelets safe?
Yes, our necklaces and bracelets are specially made for babies in a very safe and traditional way by our experienced artisans. There are no metallic threads or clasps. Each bead is individually hand-knotted so that even in the extremely unlikely event of the string being torn only one bead is released.

How often should my baby wear the amber?
As often as possible. We advise to have your baby wear the amber under parental supervision where they can be corrected if they pull on the thread or chew on the amber. They will very quickly become accustomed to it.

How do I put the necklace and bracelet on?
The necklaces and bracelets each have plastic clasps that match the colour of their amber. One end of the clasp screws into the other.

What about wearing during bath time or when swimming?
Yes, you can. The amber beads are not affected by water at all, however the thread can weaken and stretch with prolonged exposure to water.

Should I start my baby with a necklace or a bracelet?
The only difference between our amber bracelets and necklaces is that there is more amber in a necklace and so it is more effective, and to have a necklace and a bracelet is even better. The more amber that is worn next to the skin, the greater the benefits, as the natural oils accumulate quicker in the body.
